Obituary of Edwin J. Bender

MUNNSVILLE . . . Edwin J. Bender, 65, of Munnsville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at his home. He was born on July 9, 1954, in Utica, the son of the late Howard and Cora (Mason) Bender. Edwin lived in Verona Beach most of his life, attending the Verona Beach School. He later lived in Oneida, moving to Munnsville last October. He was a member of the Sylvan Beach VFW. Surviving are: two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Stacianne Bender of Canastota, and Dakota Bender; one daughter, Christine Bender and her fiancé, Eric Winters, of Newark Valley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Bender of Rome, and Fredrick and Linda Bender of Hamilton; four sisters, Kathleen Lamberton of Canastota, Betty Miller of Oneida, Theresa Gariepy of Georgia, and Deborah Kneskern of Canastota; five grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Edwin was predeceased by one granddaughter, Kayleigh C. Cochis; and one brother, Howard Bender, Jr. At his family's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
