Obituary of Nancy J. Badgley

WHITELAW . . . Nancy J. Badgley, 61, of 2943 Waterbury Road, Canastota (Whitelaw), passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, following a brief illness. She was born on November 2, 1956, in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of the late Carl, Sr. and Etta Mae (Youngs) Ellsworth. Nancy has lived in Whitelaw most of her life, attending Canastota High Schools, and later, Utica School of Commerce in Canastota. She worked for Manth-Brownell in Kirkville for 20 years, retiring in 2014, due to her health. Nancy enjoyed playing BINGO, and computer games, going to the casino, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family. She married Ralph E. Badgley, Sr. on May 11, 1974, in Whitelaw. Ralph died on June 11, 1987. Surviving are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Badgley, Jr. and Samantha Plyman, and Brian and Amy Badgley, all of Canastota; one daughter and son-in-law, Wannita and Wayne Wallis, Sr. of Canastota; three brothers, Carl Ellsworth, Jr. of Canastota, LeRoy Ellsworth of Rome, and David Ellsworth of Canastota; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Wilsey of Canastota; eleven grandchildren, Wayne Wallis, Jr., Ethan Wallis, Elliot Wallis, Laurel Badgley, Shelby Badgley, Dillon Badgley, Ralph Badgley, Etta Mae Badgley, David Badgley, Elizabeth Butler, and Austin Butler; and two great grandchildren, Amari Thompson, and Brooklyn Croniser; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Deacon Adolph Uryniak, of St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, will officiate. Burial will be in Whitelaw Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In her memory, contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of CNY, 5005 Campuswood Drive, E. Syracuse, NY 13057, with envelopes available at the funeral home. J.
