Obituary of Joyce A. Palmer

CANASTOTA . . . Joyce A. Palmer, 91, formerly of Buyea Road, Canastota, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton, following a brief illness. She was born on September 19, 1929, in Litchfield, NY, the daughter of the late Emery D. Sr. and Josephine (Inman) Palmer. Joyce spent her early years in Cedarville. She has lived in the Canastota area most of her life, attending the Wampsville School. Joyce has been a resident of Crouse Community Center in Morrisville for the last 8 years. She attended the Madison Cortland ARC Day Program for many years. Joyce enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are: one sister, Mary Raymond of Durhamville; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joyce was predeceased by four brothers, Hartwell "Skip" Palmer, Emery "Buddy" Palmer, Charles Palmer, and Emery Palmer, Jr.; and one sister, Margaret Babcock Graveside services will be held in the Spring at the convenience of the family at Cedarville Cemetery, Litchfield. At Joyce's request there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc. 201 James Street, Canastota, NY 13032. In her memory contributions may be made to the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, 7224 Old County Road West, Canastota, NY 13032.
