Obituary of Mark R. Peters

ONEIDA . . . Mark R. Peters, 64, of 1736 Mt. Hope Avenue, Oneida, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 15, 1957, in Canastota, the son of LeRoy and Janelle (Marsala) Peters. Mark spent his early years in Canastota, and has lived in Oneida most of his life, graduating from Oneida High School in 1975. He had been an electrician, contractor, and electrical inspector in the area for more than twenty years. Mark also owned and operated Bottom of the Barrel, at his home for the last twenty years. Mark enjoyed wine making, bee keeping, hunting, the outdoors, cooking and gardening. He was the treasurer and an active member of South Bay Chapel. Surviving are: one son, Tyler Peters and Kassandra Jones of Oneida; one daughter, Megan Peters of Oneida; one granddaughter, Maisyn Landon; his mother, Janelle Peters of Verona; one brother, Breck Peters of Eaton; two sisters, April Peters of Marion, and Nola Peters of Oneida; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his ex-wives, Linda (Stewart) Acee of Boonville, and Tari Peters of Sherrill. Mark was predeceased by his father, LeRoy Peters; and a brother, Craig Peters. Mark's family would like to thank his healthcare providers for the loving and compassionate care he was given by Dr. Andrea Finocchiaro, Dr. Jenny Meyers, and the Hospice Nurses and Aides. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the South Bay Chapel, 8954 Morris Road, Canastota. Pastor Tony Paredes will officiate. At Mark's request there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota, NY 13032.
