WATERLOO . . . Richard G. Green, 66, of Waterloo, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Rochester General Hospital, after a gallant fight for his life. He was born on November 11, 1955, in Sipio Center, the son of the late Leon, Sr. and Mary (Deal) Green. Richard spent his early years in Southern Cayuga, graduating from Southern Cayuga High School in 1974. He has lived in Waterloo for the past 45 years. He spent his career as a nuclear certified welder at Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls, N.Y. and retired in 2018, after 40 years of dedicated service. Richard enjoyed hunting and being outdoors with his horses at various roping events on the weekends with lifelong friends. Richard's greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He took every opportunity to attend games, assist in coaching, and support the kids' interests always encouraging them to try their best. Any day he could "wake up to put his two feet on the floor was a great day" according to Richard. He lived life to the fullest. He married Jean M. Meyer on July 2, 1982, in the First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jean M. Green; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Danielle Green of Warwick, NY; one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Kevin Schaedler of Erie, PA; three grandchildren, Jean Marie Schaedler, Ryan James Schaedler, and Vivienne Louise Green; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Lana Green of Morganton, NC; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diana and Albert Shay of Mulberry, FL, and Kathi and James Patterson of Bartow, FL. Richard was predeceased by his older brother, Leon Green, Jr. The celebration of his life will be at the convenience of his family. Burial will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota, NY.
