Obituary of Judy A. Allen

CHITTENANGO . . . Judy A. Allen, 66, of 7033 Canaseraga Road, Chittenango, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Abraham House, Rome, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 14, 1956, in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Mike and Charlotte (Brink) Portorsnok. Judy lived in the Chittenango area most of her life, graduating from Chittenango High School in 1974. She worked at the Kirkville Post Office for several years, retiring in 2013, and had previously work for the Madison County Head Start Program. Judy enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, painting, woodworking, and spending time with her family. She married David J. Allen, Sr. on July 6, 1974, in the South Bay Chapel, Canastota. Surviving besides her husband, David, are: two sons and daughters-in-law, David, Jr. and Amy Allen of Farmington, and Christopher and Amy Allen of Chittenango; three grandchildren, Griffin Allen, Gillian Allen, and Jakob Allen; one brother, Robert Portorsnok of Mattydale; two sisters, Nancy and Sam Grago of Canastota, and Penny and Earl Case of Chittenango; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judy was predeceased by one brother, Mike Portorsnok. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home. The Rev. Mick Keville, Pastor of CrossRoads Community Church, N. Chittenango, will officiate. Burial will be in Whitelaw Cemetery, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to the Abraham House, 417 N. Washington Street, Rome, NY 13440, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
