Canastota….. Daniel F. Bruno, 83, of Canastota, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Abraham House in Rome, with his family at his side. A lifelong resident of Canastota, he was born on August 3, 1939, the son of the late Daniel J. and Alice J. (Sullivan) Bruno. He attended Canastota Schools. Mr. Bruno retired from New Venture Gear in Syracuse after many years of service. He was a member of the UAW and enjoyed camping after retirement. On January 22, 1977, Dan was married to the former Kathleen A. Perigny. The couple shared in a union blessed with over forty-five years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian Bruno of Chittenango, and Dean and Shannon Bruno of NC; five grandchildren, Hayden Bruno, Megan Bruno, Landon Bruno, Gracelynn Bruno, and Dylan Bruno; a brother and sister-in law, David and Peggy Bruno of FL; and a sister, Kay Jordan. He is also survived by a nephew, Adam Bruno. He was predeceased in death by a brother, Louis D. Bruno. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A private burial at St. Agatha's Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Daniel's memory to, Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413,with envelopes available at the funeral home.
