Obituary of Justine A. Ano

MUNNSVILLE . . . Justine A. Ano, 88, formerly of Munnsville, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 4, 1935, in Utica, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Parsons) Harrison. Justine spent her early years in Westmoreland, graduating from Westmoreland High School in 1953. She has lived in the Munnsville area most of her life. She owned and operated a Hair Styling business "Justine's Modern Styles" in Stockbridge and Sylvan Beach for many years, and was a Real Estate Agent in the area for several years. Justine had been a member of the former Loyal Order of Moose in Oneida. She enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle, and spending time with her family and friends. Justine married Gervase T. "Mike" Ano on March 27, 1954, in Munnsville. Mike passed away on November 16, 2014. Surviving are: five sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Ano of Durhamville, Pat and Carol Ano of Vernon Center, Dan and Teresa Ano of Bonita Springs, FL, Tim and Tammy Ano of Oneida, and Kelly and Cheryl Ano of Sylvan Beach; one daughter and son-in-law, Mishelle and John Duell of Unadilla; one sister, Beverly Stressel of Clark Mills; one brother, James Harrison and Verna Myers of Bracey, VA; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Kay and John Falcone of Oneida, and Judy Ano of Oneida; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Justine was predeceased by her mother, father, and one brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Helen Harrison; and three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Norman and Bonnie Martin, Edward Dale Ano, and Otto Stressel. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family, at Stockbridge Cemetery, Munnsville. At Justine's request, there will be no calling hours, however, a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
