Obituary of Karl H. Bajohr

CANASTOTA . . . Karl H. Bajohr, 93, of 5045 Cole Street, Munnsville, and 160 Canal Street, Canastota, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing, Chittenango, following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 26, 1930, in Hamburg, Germany. Karl spent his early years in Germany, graduating from high school and later The University of Lübeck, in Lübeck, Germany, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Karl came to the United States in 1959, living in Queens, NY, and New Jersey, before moving to Canastota and Munnsville in 1979. He worked in Manhattan for 20 years, and later at the Speno Co. in E. Syracuse for 10 years. Following his retirement in 1996, he opened Karl's Custom Framing, which he owned and operated in Canastota for 25 years. Karl sold his business and retired in 2021. Karl enjoyed cars, gardening, and working in his frame shop. He married Eleanor C. Verheyen on December 23, 1967, in Ft. Lee, NJ. Surviving is his wife, Eleanor C. Bajohr of Munnsville. At Karl's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In his memory contributions may be made to the Canastota Public Library, 102 W. Center Street, Canastota, NY 13032.
