CANASTOTA . . .
Ronald Allen Stuy, 66, of 107B Warners Road, Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at his home.
He was born on August 17, 1957, in Canastota, the son of the late Hans and Theresia (Waanders) Stuy.
Ron lived in Canastota area most of his life, graduating from Canastota High School in 1975, and later graduating from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1977
He was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving aboard submarines and an aircraft carrier.
Ron worked for Oneida Limited in Sherrill for several years, and had also worked for Intergraph in Rochester, and for BIMBO Bakery in Canastota for the last ten years.
He enjoyed playing chess, and was an engineer at heart, who loved building and making things.
Surviving are: three brothers and sisters-in-law, Hans and Jacqueline Stuy of Oneida, John and Mary Stuy of Carmel, IN, and William and Brenda Stuy of Canastota; four nieces and nephews, Lauren Stuy, Michelle Southerland, John A. Stuy, and William H. Stuy; great nieces and nephews; several cousins; and friends, including James Grow.
At Ron's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
