CANASTOTA . . . Suzanne J. Hannan, 81, of 249½ S. Peterboro Street, Canastota, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing, Chittenango, following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 2, 1943, in Oneida, the daughter of the late Albert and Childonna (Taber) Butler. Suzanne lived in Canastota most of her life, attending the Canastota schools. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Memorial Post #600 in Canastota. Suzanne enjoyed playing bingo and cards, watching television, and spending time with her family. She married George W. Hannan on July 1, 1978, in Canastota. Surviving besides her husband, George, are: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rory and Kimberly Butler of Vernon Center, and Brice Hannan of Canastota; one brother, Barton Butler of Canastota; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Suzanne was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Butler, and Robert Butler; and one sister, Mary "Pat" Greene. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, Pastor of St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to the VFW Memorial Post # 600, PO Box 104, Canastota, NY 13032.
