CANASTOTA . . . Tome Hill, 75, of 7062 Scenic Avenue, Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Oneida Healthcare, following a brief illness. She was born on July 10, 1949, in Da Nang, Vietnam, where she grew up, moving to Canastota in 1971. Tome retired from Turning Stone Casino in Verona, after working there for 27 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, and spending time with her family, friends and animals. Surviving are: two daughters, Suzanne and Brian Doren of Tyler, TX, and MiLee Hill and her fiancé, Steven Robotham, of Canastota; two grandchildren, Clay Massey, and Hannah Doren; William Campbell, her dearest companion of 25 years, who stepped in as a father figure and loving grandfather. Tome was very fond of her extended family, including her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and nephews. Tome was predeceased a son, Timothy E. Hill, II. Calling hours will be held from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeffery E. Riha, Sr. of Celebration Church, Linklean, NY will officiate. In her memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032.
