I grew up down the block from Mike and his family. He was one of my best friends for years; we played all the time after school and on the weekends. He was a great, loyal friend and I have so many memories of all the crazy stuff we did. But what I remember the most was what an incredible natural athlete Mike was. He could do any game, any sport, better than anyone else. He didn't take direction from coaches so he wasn't on any school teams but my god he was everyone's favorite for neighborhood pickup games. He was truly gifted in all sports he tried; it was awesome to watch him shine in everything. I've been telling people about him for decades because he's the best athlete I've ever known, including pro athletes. He was truly one of a kind. You will be missed and always remembered, my old friend.
