Obituary of Arthur E. Hartle

MUNNSVILLE . . .

Arthur E. Hartle, 79, of Munnsville, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Waterville Residential Care Center.

He was born on October 28, 1939, in Pinkney Corners, the son of the late George and Annabelle (Roberts) Hartle.

Art worked for the Village of Canastota DPW for 12 years, and DiVeronica Brothers of Canastota for 3 years.

Art had been a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Canastota.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and decorating for the holidays.

Art married Ruby J. Brockway on May 14, 1962, in Oneida.

Surviving besides his wife, Ruby, are: two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Lulu Hartle of Munnsville, and Arthur and Judy Hartle of Victor; one daughter, Tina Wagner of Munnsville; one son-in-law, Curt Fort of Vernon; one brother, Howard "Bill" Hartle of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Maryanne Moran of Adams, and Barbara Beadle of Sherrill; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Art was predeceased by a daughter, Andora Fort; and three brothers, Earl Hartle, George Hartle, and Frank Hartle.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Pastor Jeff Rogers of the Church of the Nazarene, Canastota, will officiate. Burial will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, prior to the funeral, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In his memory, contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, 3640 Seneca Turnpike, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
